Stabilize the flux grid

Slide equal energy cells together, build a merge chain, and spend three one-use abilities when the grid closes in.

How Flux 2048 works

Flux 2048 is an original ability-based number puzzle with an endless board and a deterministic three-minute daily sprint.

Slide, merge, and build a chain

  • Use the arrow keys, swipe the board, or press the direction controls. Equal values that meet in one move merge once.
  • A move that creates several merges builds a chain multiplier, so board preparation can score more than repeatedly chasing the largest tile.

Spend three tactical abilities

  • Rewind restores the board before the last successful move, Rotate turns the complete grid clockwise without spawning a tile, and Vent removes one lowest-value tile.
  • Each ability is available once per run. Saving it for a nearly blocked board is usually stronger than spending it to fix a small early mistake.

Endless and daily modes

  • Endless mode continues until no legal slide remains and stores the active board automatically.
  • The daily sprint uses the same local-date seed for everyone and ends after three minutes. It stores a separate result for each date without uploading a leaderboard entry.
Local puzzle data onlyBoards, ability use, daily results, and records stay in this browser's localStorage. The optional arcade backup JSON is created on the device and is not uploaded by FreeToolHub.

Flux 2048 questions

Rules, daily seeds, saves, and originality.

Is this the standard 2048 game?

It keeps the familiar power-of-two sliding rule but adds an original chain score, three limited abilities, a timed seeded mode, its own presentation, and an independent implementation.

Why did a tile merge only once?

A newly merged tile cannot merge again during the same slide. It can combine on a later move, which keeps long rows predictable.

Is the daily board identical on every device?

The date creates the same deterministic tile sequence, but moves and ability choices change the resulting board. Local time determines when the seed changes.

Can I move my unfinished board?
